St Mary’s Convent School is run by the institute of The Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (C.S.S.T) a religious order founded by Mother Tereas of Madras in Kerala. Mother Teresa, our foundress, a true missionary and a great visionary, a far sighted and expert educationist and social worker, a loving and compassionate person, an exemplary religious woman for all times, bequeathed her charism to us, her spiritual daughters, who over the last hundred and thirty years have continued the noble work commenced by her in a little house, Ernakulum on April 24,1887, Today, its branches are spread far and wide not only in our vast subcontinent but also across the seas. The Institute of Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa embraces 120 houses in five provinces and the administrative center in Bangalore. A large number of schools, women colleges, training institutes are spread out in 12 states of our country, in the Gulf and in America and Africa as well.

Continuing the vision of their foundress, the Sisters work in various social work projects and also care for the sick, the old and the destitute. The Educational Institutions established by this religious Institute are administered by the personnel appointed by the Institute and are entitled to the guarantee enshrined in Act 30 (1) of the constitution of India.
